In the example above, a 100-point rubric was included with the assignment (A). The instructor has filled out the rubric (B) and the student has earned a 90/100 on the rubric (or a 90%). If the Connect assignment is also worth 100 points (C), the student will earn 90 points in this case (D).
If the Connect assignment is worth a different number of points, the scored rubric percentage will be applied to the Connect assignment points. In this example, the 90/100 rubric score (A) has been applied to the 50-point assignment in Connect (B) as a percentage (e.g., 90% of 50 points = 45 points) (C).
The Connect assignment score will display in the Assignment Results and Student Performance Reports and sync with your LMS gradebook. The grade will not show in instructor or student reports until the due date passes, even if you graded submissions before the due date passes.
Once the due date passes, the instructor-provided grade will populate in reports.
If you do not grade students before the due date, then once the due date passes, both you and students will see a “0” score until the assignment is graded.
You can launch to the post-submission view for a specific student by clicking the student’s score within the Assignment Results Report or Student Performance Report. Clicking on the student’s score will take you to a filtered view of that student’s recordings for that specific assignment:
To access a previously graded recording, click on the Graded tab. From here, click on the video thumbnail in order to re-review it, add new comments, or change the score. If you change a student’s score, the new score will populate immediately in the instructor and student reports (and will overwrite the previous score).
Connect can only track one score per student for a video capture assignment. If a student has recorded multiple videos for a single assignment, only the latest score provided will flow back to Connect reports.
Important to Know:
- Blackboard Users: If edits to a score need to be made, you can overwrite them in your Blackboard gradebook. Re-syncing with Connect at a later date will not revert it back to the original rubric score.
- Canvas Users: If edits to a score need to be made, re-syncing with Connect at a later date will revert it back to the original rubric score. We recommend making changes to scores in the GoReact grading dashboard to ensure your changes remain intact.
