McGraw-Hill Connect Improves Student Performance at University of South Carolina!

Professor Kathleen Kirasic needed an effective online learning solution to help her deliver an engaging learning experience outside of the classroom for her blended course. She implemented Connect® Lifespan and found that the LearnSmart adaptive learning modules provided students with an interactive, effective method of acquiring the core course knowledge needed to be successful. As a result, students came to the monthly lectures well prepared on the course material, and Professor Kirasic was able to spend less time on basic concepts and make her lectures much more current and applied. McGraw-Hill Connect Improves Student Success and Engagement at Dixie State College!

Professor Candace Mesa wanted to reinforce the developmental writing concepts she was teaching in her Beginning Writing course, and to give students experience with working in an online environment, which is required in the follow-up Developmental Writing course. Connect® Writing gave students the opportunity to practice key course concepts, increasing pass rates by 5% and engaging students, who often completed unassigned sections to clarify challenging content that was covered in class. McGraw-Hill Connect Boosts Student Performance at State College of Florida!

Professor Cheri Kittrell was looking for a digital solution that would help reinforce course concepts without adding to her grading workload. She began using Connect® Psychology in Fall 2009, anticipating that it would provide interactive content designed for diverse learning styles, yet still be user-friendly enough not to intimidate students who had little experience with technology. She is seeing exactly the results she expected, as well as meeting her initial goals of reinforcing concepts for students. McGraw-Hill Connect Boosts Student Performance at West Virginia University!

Professor Ruiz Rosique needed to provide her students with additional practice through activities completed outside of class. The assignments in Connect® Spanish presented a wide variety of additional skills practice to serve this purpose. Being able to assign unique learning tools outside of class, such as the Mundo Interactivo and Tema activities, allowed her to effectively cover more course material while engaging students to interact more fully in the course content. As a result, homework activity increased significantly and the average quiz grade jumped ten points, from 76% to 86%. She also saw significant improvement in grade distribution. Professor Ruiz Rosique is pleased with how Connect Spanish has both saved her time and improved student performance. Improved Navigation in Connect

Connect is now easier to use than ever before, thanks to input from our Connect community! Your “My Courses” page now offers icons instead of a menu, so you can quickly and easily set course registration dates, duplicate, or delete your course.  You can also edit your course name and time zone directly from this page.



Connect also offers enhanced section drop-down menus, which clearly detail the functionality offered via the contextual labels to better inform you of your options to edit, duplicate, copy, share, or delete a course section. Enjoy these usability enhancements!
